ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Design and print a custom card, piece of original art or pattern in time for Christmas!
This workshop will give an introduction to screen printing techniques and printing using single and multi colours. You will learn to print and gain practical experience of the tools and materials used for printing.
There will be demonstrations followed by practical application and experimentation with the techniques. You will receive regular feedback from Sarah throughout the workshop, as and when appropriate, and she will be on hand to answer any questions.
Sarah Keast is a local Artist and printmaker.
Our workshops are designed to give you the skills to continue making prints independently and to inspire you to try new techniques.
Basic tools, materials, tea, coffee and biscuits are provided!
Please bring visual source material, ie: sketchbooks, drawings, photos, postcards as reference.
Designing for screen printing: considering positive and negative shapes, pattern and texture.
Printing process and techniques using screens and squeegees.
Preparing inks and using printing rollers.
Registration techniques for multiple colours.
Unfortunately this workshop is not suitable for under 18 years old - due to the tools required.
