ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Bookbinding is the traditional art of making books by hand. Sheets of paper are sewn together and then covered in a protective and decorative case. In this workshop you will be given an introduction to the basics of hardback casing - the act of making the protective case - whilst re-covering and up-cycling an old paperback book.
Please bring along a paperback book to re-cover (we recommend searching through second hand book shops for cheap books - we will have some classics here if you can’t find one). We’ll be discarding the old cover and making our own beautiful hardback case using book cloth and decorative papers. You can even bring in your own materials to customise your book such decorative paper.
