What is MAKLAB?

MAKLab is an open access fabrication workshop which gives anyone from young people through to communities, individual entrepreneurs and businesses, the opportunity & capability to turn their ideas and concepts into reality.


At MAKLab anyone can Dream it. Design it. MAK it.

Machine Rates

Once you become a member of MAKLab you will receive training on all the equipment and machines within the studio. You are then free to come in and use them for your projects, paying only a rental charge for the time that you are running the machine.
All our Computers, Software, Hand & Bench Tools, Electronics Equipment & the space are FREE to use for members.

Guideline Rates for our machines are as follows (but please always check with the staff as projects & therefore rates can vary considerably):

Laser Cutting 

(Typical Job = 10-60 mins)

Commercial : £1.00 p/m

Member : £0.40 p/m

 

CNC Router Cutting

(Typical Job = 20-120 mins)

Commercial : £1.30 p/m

Member : £0.70 p/m

 

CNC Milling

(Typical Job = 20-120 mins)

Commercial : £1.30 p/m

Member : £0.70 p/m

 

3D Printing (HP Designjet)

(Typical Job = 20-120 mins)
